Cooling flow regime of a plasma thermal quench

چکیده

A large class of Laboratory, Space, and Astrophysical plasmas is nearly collisionless. When a localized energy or particle sink, for example, in the form radiative cooling spot black hole, introduced into such plasma, it can trigger plasma thermal collapse, also known as quench tokamak fusion. Here we show that electron conduction collisionless follows convective transport scaling itself its spatial gradient, due to constraint ambipolar transport. As result, robust flow aggregates mass toward collapse surrounding takes four propagating fronts originate from spot, along magnetic field line magnetized plasma. The slowest one, which responsible deep cooling, shock front.

Creation of Clusters via a Thermal Quench

The nucleation and growth of clusters in a progressively cooled vapor is studied. The chemical-potential of the vapor increases, resulting in a rapidly increasing nucleation rate. The growth of the newly created clusters depletes monomers, and counters the increase in chemical-potential. Eventually, the chemical potential reaches a maximum and begins to decrease. Shortly thereafter the nucleati...

Effect of inlet flow condition on the thermal behavior of battery pack using a wavy cooling jacket

In recent years, the automotive industry has experienced a dramatic mutation in the develop ment of electric vehicles. One of the most important aspects of this type of vehicle is its thermal management. Among the various parts of an electric vehicle that are subjected to thermal management, the battery is of particular importance. Battery cell temperatures may exceed the allowable range due to...

Quantum Quench from a Thermal Initial State

We consider a quantum quench in a system of free bosons, starting from a thermal initial state. As in the case where the system is initially in the ground state, any finite subsystem eventually reaches a stationary thermal state with a momentum-dependent effective temperature. Remarkably enough, we find that this can, in some cases, even be lower than the initial temperature. We also study latt...

Effects of Thermal Diffusion and Radiation on Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) Chemically Reacting Fluid Flow Past a Vertical Plate in a Slip Flow Regime

An analysis has been conceded to study the effects of Soret and thermal radiation effects on the magnetohydrodynamic convective flow of a viscous, incompressible, electrically conducting fluid with heat and mass transfer over a plate with time-dependent suction velocity in a slip flow regime in the presence of first-order chemical reaction. The slip conditions at the boundaries for the governin...

Suppression of thermal conduction in non-cooling flow clusters

Recent X-ray observations have revealed a universal temperature profile of the intracluster gas of non-cooling flow clusters which is flat for r ≤ 0.2r180. Numerical simulations, however, obtain a steeper temperature profile in the inner region. We study the effect of thermal conduction on the intracluster gas in non-cooling flow clusters in light of these observations, using the steep temperat...
